DIY Pantry Makeover with Sincerely Sara D
Back to blog
For many, cooking is a therapeutic way to start and end your day, but a cluttered kitchen pantry can add stress to the process, making it hard to find the key ingredients and cooking tools you need. With limited space, it’s easy for a cramped pantry to quickly become disorganized.
DIY home decor blogger Sara Davis of Sincerely Sara D tackled her pantry redesign with the help of Closets by Liberty™. Watch her YouTube video detailing the entire process or read on for more tips from her stunning before and after makeover.
Before: Pantry Is Hidden Behind Closed Doors

Before the makeover, Sara’s pantry didn’t match the aesthetic of the rest of her modern, stylish kitchen. She kept the clutter behind closed doors:
- Warped wire racks bent over the years and lacked durability
- The cluttered look of cans, boxes, and containers made it hard to locate key ingredients and create a quick shopping list
- Baskets hid some items, but didn’t match the overall look or provide clear organization
- Pots and pans were missing a home and stored on the ground
Her dream was to create a neat and tidy area that served as a mini butler’s pantry.
After: Pantry Is Organized & On Display

Our 4-foot Linen & Pantry system allowed Sara to create a space worth showing off! She even removed the door from her pantry, achieving the butler’s pantry look. Here are some of the key changes that went into the makeover.
Durable Shelving

Closets by Liberty™ systems are constructed from high-strength aluminum towers that serve as the foundation for a custom design. Sara’s 4-foot system features two towers. At the top of her system she used sturdy shelves that simply click into place at the desired height. These shelves replaced the warped wire racks in her old pantry and allowed her to better sort and store similar products. She can now see what ingredients are on hand at a glance.
Soft Close Drawers

The beauty of Closets by Liberty™ systems is that storage accessories can be added, mixed, and matched to any system. Sara added both shallow and deep drawers to the lower half of her system. This allows her to hide away some ingredients for a more streamlined look. The drawers are a great place to store spices, table setting needs, oven mitts, and other small items.
Hanging Space For Pots

Sara utilized other Liberty Hardware products to deck out the left and right walls in her pantry. The 19” Essick Hook Racks allowed her to neatly store pots, pans, and aprons.
Personalize With Wallpaper And Drawer Hardware

Sara fully customized the space and gave it a modern butler’s pantry feel by wallpapering the nook in this rich, floral pattern. While the system includes decorative cabinet hardware in a Satin Nickel finish, Sara created her own look by ordering Liberty Hardware’s square pulls in Champagne Bronze.
